Thank everyone ever involved with the progression of communication.  
I shudder to think of a world where everyone communicates by crying when they have physical and emotional pain.

Even worse is that pain would bring crying and crying would bring pain to both the crier and the recipient receiving the cry resulting in a neverending cycle of everybody on the earth.

In a world like that, we'd have to avoid each other to be happy.
